of Ryan and Chelsa
We need a witness to our lives. There are over a billion people on the planet. I mean, what does any one life really mean? But in a marriage you're promising to care about everything - the good things, the bad things, the terrible things, and the mundane things. You're saying, 'Your life will not go unnoticed, because I will notice it. Your life will not go unwitnessed, because I will be your witness.'
The two of you, you need to make sure that you love each other every single day and you need to kiss each other every day and keep on holding each other's hand just like you're doing now. Give each other the gift of time. Because life is now. We are not sure that life will be sometime later. Don't plan to do things in the future. Don't say that you are going to do something when you get old. You don't even know if you will get old. If you want to do something, find the time and do it now."
– Páll Ágúst Ólafsson
It’s quite a task to take a trip like this and condense it down to just a couple minutes.
I mean, capturing the unworldly characteristics of Iceland is a task in itself, but add in two gems like Ryan and Chelsa, the most moving words spoken during a ceremony that we’ve ever experienced, and footage from several days of exploring made for quite a task - definitely one that we were so excited to take on.
A lot of you have likely already watched the teaser film from this wedding and it just makes us so excited to finally share a little more of what we captured from this trip. The teaser films show how incredible the location, couple, and experience are, but our favorite thing about sharing full highlight wedding films is that we are able to show a little more of their personalities and emotion throughout the film.
Ryan’s gentle spirit and contagious laugh.
Chelsa’s bad-ass demeanor paired with her seriously loving personality.
Páll’s (the officiant) deep words that make us want to live the rest of our lives to the fullest.
We’ve been so excited to share these things with you all. Iceland is cool, yes, but these people are what made the trip and the wedding day so special to us. Getting to experience breathtaking waterfalls, cozy cups of cocoa, white-out conditions and having to push our small cars out of of the snow, driving 30 minutes down the road from that snow and being back to green grass, driving just another hour or so and being fully immersed in Iceland’s rich autumn, driving and driving just to see things, meeting horses and waiting for sheep to cross the road, sinking deep into moss and starting to understand why so many locals believe in trolls and elves, and just being fully in awe of how unique and beautiful this place is is what made this trip so incredible. Also the sviss mochas and treats that we kept getting at a little place called Sandholt in Reykjavík :)
We’d be keeping a truly beautiful thing from you if we didn’t share the photos that Lauren and Mark Apel took from this trip. These two were a pleasure to work alongside and we truly hope that this isn’t the last time that we all get to work together.
